The First China Garment Conference successfully held

Hundreds of practitioners of garment industry gathered in the First China Garment Conference just held days ago. At the conference, the industry hotspots have been mentioned constantly, brilliant comments have flashed out as well. Leaders, experts and representatives of enterprises have expressed their insights on the current development of the industry. During the First China Garment Conference, joint annual meetings for professional committees ——men’s wear, women’s wear, children’s wear, apparel, accessories, and underwear —— were also held to sort out the latest development of each industry.

Men’s wear & Women’s wear

“The brand structure of men’s wear is changing, divided into four categories: traditional men’s wear, newly emerging men’s wear, fashionable men’s wear and tailored men’s wear.” Feng Dehu, vice chairman of China National Garment Association, believed that the traditional men’s wear already possessed a solid foundation with modern equipment and clear poisitioning of the enterprises while the product quality and market tend to be stable. In contrast, lack of innovation and homogenization were the serious problems existed in it.

There are certainly innovators in the men’s wear industry, represented by HEILANHOME and ARTSDON, such brands became the strong new forces of the industry by creating new brand models. Other brands, like CABBEEN and GXG, are growing into the fashionable men’s wear system in a very fast way. Customized wear is becoming a trend, RCOLLAR is one of the currently mature brands in this section.

At the mean while, resources are gathered to powerful men’s wear enterprises, thanks for the capital power. From January to September this year, four men’s wear enterprises were listed on the stock market. Independent brands for women’s wear are rising in large numbers, LANCY was listed on the stock market on July 30 this year, became the first listed women’s wear enterprise. “This will boost the development of women’s wear industry. The rise of women’s wear brands will lead the whole industry to a more refined development on both positioning and subdivision.”

Children’s wear & Ornaments

The huge market cake of of children’s wear attracted large enterprises and big brands such fast fashion brands as ZARA and H&M,sports brands like NIKE, adidas, ANTA also launched children’s wear either in their special sales area or franchised shop. BOSIDENG’s acquisition of DD-CAT, accomplished its strategic layout on children’s wear. The retail businesses for children’s wear were constantly updated while the network marketing was growing. Benefitting from channel changes, numbers of enterprises are undergoing the growth from small to big. Some potential children’s wear enterprises have received attention from PE, for instance, PACLANTIC.

In the top 10 children’s clothing enterprises published by China National Garment Association, the annual sales revenue of the top 10 children’s clothing enterprises was more than CNY300 million amid BALABALA, affiliated to SEMIR, was the No.1 with its sales revenue CNY1.5 billion.

With regard to ornaments, fashion and personalized are becoming the trend of it. The whole industry is undergoing a high-speed development. People’s demand for ornaments is growing, fashion and personalized ornaments are more and more popular. At the same time, people ,s awareness of brands is stronger and sales models more diversified. The representing brands are NEOGLORY and BINF.

Accessories & Underwear

“Technology and function are the future trends for development.” Feng Dehu believed, in the wake of new technology, new materials, new craft, fashion, personalized, stylish are the features which will be further reflected in the accessories products. Eco-friendly function, health function, fire-retardant function, glitter of the crystal materials is emphasized. Ergonomic and enhanced comfort are also the future trends. Meanwhile, fashion trend is becoming more of an important design element, practical function is turning into fashion style. In recent years, the decorative features of the clothing accessories are much more emphasized, decorative accessories’ design is already part of the overall design of clothing.

With regard to underwear, people pay close attention on the comfort and environmental protection features of the products, as well as other functions like healthcare and sports. At the same time, underwear products are becoming more fashionable, not only for purposes of comfort and health, but also the trend of stylish underwear and adaptive to fashion outfit, which made the design and wearing of underwear more fashion and varied.
