Joint Meeting of Trade Association Secretary Generals in China's Garment Industry was held on January 6, 2011 in Beihai, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Secretary Generals from provinces, municipalities and key cities of China, and vice presidents and related department responsible of CNGA presented at the meeting.

Chen Dapeng, Executive Vice President of CNGA, pointed out at the meeting that the industry had a good development trend though the relevant industry factors had changed in the past five years, and 2011 opened another new decade in the century and unveiled China's dream of strong apparel country. Adjusting the industry structure, changing the industry pattern and realizing the brand value are the basic methodology for China's garment industry to meet new strategic opportunities. However, the industry has also to realize the fact that the development of information technology is rapidly changing our ways of lifestyle, consumption, exchange and production, and sees the gap with the developed countries. Chen also emphasized that the opportunity of the industry development environment and market trends should be grasped and followed, and research force be strengthened. On the basis of the above, the innovation will be made on the work contents and methods. Meanwhile, the industry transformation and upgrading shall be done more practically. Moreover, Secretary Generals from local associations summarized the work and discussed the future work at the meeting.
